Kettle Street is a cosy British life sim you can play offline

JoyBit Team ·

Kettle Street is a life sim from a small studio in Manchester, now out on Android. You move into a nearly empty flat in the fictional town of Kettleby and slowly turn it into a home, paying rent from whatever jobs you can pick up around town.

The jobs are the interesting part. Instead of tapping a work button and waiting, each one is a small hands-on minigame: delivering parcels by van, driving a double-decker bus without jolting the passengers, making sandwiches at a cafe or serving at a curry house. Better shifts come with promotions, and the money goes on furniture, paint, pets and keeping the electric topped up.

Seven neighbours and a street group chat give the town some life, and the calendar follows the real date. Pocket Gamer notes seasonal events running from Halloween through to Christmas, so this is a good week to start, with Bonfire Night fireworks listed on the store page.

The Google Play listing says it plays offline with no account, and saves stay on your phone. There are no ads. Your first week in Kettleby is free, then one purchase unlocks the rest of the game; the price is not shown on the listing. It is rated Everyone 10+.

Worth a look if you want a slow, homely game for evenings or a commute without signal, and you like the idea of a life sim where the chores are actually playable.
